21:11, Coast near Rosses Point. Taking sunset pictures.
It is finally happening. I am taking sunset pictures. There are
some clouds that might remove the sunlight from this moment on, but
at least I got a clean shot at 20:55. After that it hide behind
some clouds and didn't come back (yet). But at least I made 2 series!
And in 10 minutes I will go for the third.
But first back to the beginning of today. To start with the place I was
this morning:
It was a park-place next to the road. But there was so little traffic
that it didn't really matter.
And this was the 3-piece I had in mind. (Sorry, I have no better SW to align them)
Since I need to get home, I need to get to the south. This really hurts since
the county donegal is so scenic, I could easily drive & walk around here for
two weeks. While I driving, playing the Mother Earth of within temptation, I
Donegal and me really bonded. We had our goodby. First of all I am a romatic
person, but let me tell you what happened:
- the song 'our Farewell' starts playing. I'll get the lyrics here, but it
is the sweetest song with the best vocals ever about a two lovers that have
to put an end their relation.
- The road was suddenly filled with thick tree-hedges on both sides as if it
grabbes you firmly.
- The road did get a perfect surface and a lot of easy corners as if it was a
slow dance.
- Just a few raindrops appeared on the windscreen as if the county was crying (just like
me I also could not keep my eyes completely dry).
- And when the music takes up some speed, the tree's along side were gone and
I did get a perfect view over a lake and the road turned downwards.
So this was a real goodbye between me and Donegal. And I will be back!
For the rest I did make a scenic drive. There is not a lot to tell about those. I shot
some photo's on my way so you'll get an impression. I will add a route-map
later when I get home so if you wan't you can do the same...
A pieces that were best:
- the N56 from Dunglow to Maas (the last piece was the goodbye section)
A great road trough the bogs. The bog is harvested here for local use.
- the minor road from Maas to Ardara (I missed it the first time, but it is
worth it to turn a few times)
- the minor road from Ardara to Carrick (via the Glegesh pass)
This cottage is for hire. At this time there were dutch people staying here.
It is close to the pass. And the other photo is a view from the top of the
pass.
I already had plans to build a photo-platform on top of my camper. I did
not get to it. But while fixing the rust spots I noticed that when you
are carfully, you can stand on top of it. Combined with the new tripod...
I do not know what to do now: Go into town to find a pub or stay here for
the night. There is a sign saying that it is prohibited to stay here
with a caravan or tent. But this is a camper, not a caravan, not a tent. On the
other hand, there is a camping just in front of me (100 meters).
And this is the 3-piece that I shot 4 times today. The zoom of my normal camera
is a bit different. I also took some supporting shots. Also this camera appearently
already has problems with this amount of light.
